PbP is committed to safeguarding your personal information. Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with all laws concerning the protection of personal information in Greece and the EU.
As PbP is an EU-funded project, we also endeavour to keep our information policies in line with guidelines from issued by the European Data Protection Supervisor:
PbP conforms the fundamental European law on privacy, Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. PbP contains hyperlinks to other web sites. These web sites have their own privacy policies which govern the use of personal information you submit or are collected by cookies while visiting them. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third party web sites and your use of such web-sites is at your own risk.

PbP will use your personal information only: to contact you for reasons related to the service you have signed up for (e.g. to provide you with password reminders or to notify you that a particular service has been suspended for maintenance), to contact you about a submission you have made, including any content you provide as logging information: when you use the PbP services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. We restrict access to personal information to the PbP moderators and administrators who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services.
6) Information Disclosure / Sharing
We will keep your information (given at registration procedure) confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to local government bodies and law enforcement agencies) or as described in section 7 below.
7) Offensive or inappropriate content on the PbP system
If you post or send offensive, and/ or inappropriate content anywhere on the PbP system, or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on PbP, we may use your personal information to stop such behaviour. Where we reasonably believe that you are or may be in breach of any national, international and European laws (e.g. because content you have posted may be defamatory), we may use your personal information to inform relevant third parties such as your internet provider or law enforcement agencies about the content and your behaviour.
8) Users under 18
Users aged 18 or under should get their parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever providing personal information to the PbP system. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information.
9) Access to personal information records
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that PbP holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected as per the relevant Data Protection Act.
